Final Week Word Count List

Okay, since Steve is being a dinkwallet about this, here is how we'll work this without him. I'll post my word count here and then you guys post yours in the comments (as well as when they were applicable for). I will then update them in the post. You can update as much as you want, seeing as this is the last week and we should have a more active word count thingy going on. Anyway:

• Daniel Kaszor: 46 002 as of Tuesday, May 30 at 9:40pm. Words tomorrow needed to finish: 3998.DONE!

• Jake Troughton: 48 777 as of Wednesday, May 31 at 12:05am. Words per day needed to finish: 1333.DONE!

• Steve Smith 40 000 as of Tuesday, May 30 at 12:15pm. Words per day needed to finish: 5000.DONE!

• Heather Smith: 7125 as of Thursday, May 25 at 10:30pm. Words per day needed to finish: 7145.

• Scott Lilwall: 20 014 as of Monday, May 22 at 7:14pm. Words per day needed to finish (at that point): 3000.

(Note, I'm pretty sure that Lilwall hasn't actually written since last Monday, so his wpdntf is probably much higher now. Also, does anyone else notice that Word's live word counter gets spazzy after about 30 000 words? I sure did).

No wonder they were skating so slow.

Yesterday was pretty much the worst day of my life, by which I mean "not even close to the worst day of my life, but nonetheless a huge waste of a day where absolutely nothing useful got done." At any rate, it's 2:12pm on Friday, and I'm at a mere 35,012 words, leaving me at 2498/day needed to finish. And by "finish" I mean only "reach 50,000 words," and in no way do I mean "finish the story."

Not that anyone apparently cares (and if you do, please speak up with motivational mockery), but at 12:48pm Saturday, as I prepare to begin, I'm at 37580 words, and need 2484 words per day to finish. I'm aiming for at least 3000 today, though. HAHAHA!

I'm finding it amazingly hard to write tonight. Let's hope I can get at least some of my words done.

Dan, just write about how the Oilers won. It'd fit right in to any science fiction novel. And half of your words can be "honk."

For those curious, it's 1:45pm Sunday and I'm getting ready to start. I'm at 40,288 words, leaving me needing 2428/day to finish.

Haha, made you look who left another comment.

Okay Steve, come on. You can post your word count. We promise not to make fun of it.

I promise no such thing. In fact, I am making fun of him as I type, in my head. You should see it, it's hilarious.

It's 12:40pm Monday, and I'm starting off at 43,128. WPDNTF=2291. Hopefully, my slo-pitch doubleheader won't slow me down too much.

12:15am on Tuesday, 30 May: I stop for the day at 46,158. WPDNTF=1921, but I'm planning on at least hitting 49,000 tomorrow. Today was my most productive day of the month, being the only day I've passed 3000 words (with a grand total of 3030), so I just have to do that again, and I'll be set to finish up on Wednesday.

Steve reports that he's at 40,000. Will he finish? He says yes.

To answer your question, Dan: I've noticed that Word's live word counter gets more spazzy at the high word counts, but I wouldn't exactly say it's flawless even at lower levels.

I'm giving up for the night at 12:05am, having made it to 48,777 words. That leaves me needing a number of words that you can easily calculate yourselves tomorrow. I'm gonna make it!

Also, someone else post a comment, dammit.
